Nazario Graziano is at the moment one of my favourite illustrators. I never get tired of looking at his work, its so inspiring. I love the style and the mixture of old imagery and hand rendered designs, they are all so delish!

Words We Love To Hate

So at the moment I am finishing up a joint project with my good friend Laura Swarbrick. We decided to make a list of the words I LOVE, and the words she HATES. We decided to focus more on the type after our previous idea didn't work out as well as we wanted. We have decided to design a fold out on which one side will show all of our words shown together and the other, the words again but followed up with an explanation of why we love/hate them, the majority of them being quite funny/silly reasons! We chose 15 words each we did have 30 each but 60 words is a lot to fit on the page, we probably could have come up with loads more too!

So these are some of the designs I have come up with for the poster side, We have been working on the idea of overlaying the type so the words are really interacting with each other on the page.

Zine Illustration

These are some illustrations I produced for a magazine which will hopefully be printed and published by the end of the year. I was given an article and asked to come up with an illustration to run alongside it. The article was based around a woman who doesn't feel the need to be in a relationship and to be married. In one section of the article she mentions how she and this so called fella would be in tesco fighting over which pop tarts to buy. So I decided to take this idea and use pop tarts to represent them as a couple. Strawberry being the female blueberry the male. I hand drew the pop tart boxes and then added colour and type using illustrator. I also hand drew the majority of the type, another side of design I have become quite passionate about, hand rendering type adds a more personal touch I think.

I really enjoyed creating a design and was very grateful to be asked, I would love to do more work along the lines of this.

D&AD

So it has been a really long time since I have actually posted anything on her, to be honest I completely forgot I had created one. But I seem to be the only student at Bath who does not have some form of website or blog so I though hey....time to update! so here goes...It has been a whole year of new things for me, joining Bath Uni for my final year which was the best decision I made. Its coming to an end now though and tons of work to do (which explains why i'm on here!!) So I thought I should put some of the projects I have been working on up for you all to browse through at your leisure.

This year I decided to enter the D&AD awards. The brief I chose was to create a campaign for the Body Shop, reinstating them as the original pioneers of ethical beauty. I created 4 posters based around the idea of quotes on beauty from a variety of people. I wanted to create something different to the Body Shops past campaigns so I decided to do it in my favorite style of work collage. Hope you like them!
